If you didn’t already know, Pensacola is my hometown, so it holds a special place in my heart! I love that Pensacola has a good mix between being a tourist destination and it’s also full of locals who have so much love for their city. As a local, I am constantly on the hunt for the best new spot but I also stay loyal to my tried and trues. So if you’re looking for the best things to do, eat, and see in Pensacola /Pensacola Beach, you’ve come to the right place.

must SEE: pensacola, florida
- Blue Wahoos Game – You don’t want to miss attending a game at this beautiful stadium. Honestly, the best part of going to a game is the food, view, and vibe. Be sure to check out their firework schedule, and other events.
- Pensacola Beach Yoga – One of my favorite things to do on a summer evening! There is just something relaxing about hearing the waves crashing in the background. The classes I’ve attended have all been family friendly and suitable for all age levels. Anna’s Advice – Bring some baby powder to help remove the sand from your body after the class.
- Sister Hen, Pensacola’s Only Speakeasy – Yes, you must knock and have a password to enter! This is such a unique place to grab a drink with family or friends. Anna’s Advice: Go early in the evening or late at night to avoid long waits and enjoy a quieter experience. (click here for video)
must eat: PENSACOLA, FLORIDA
- The Fish House – This is restaurant has been around for as long as I can remember. They are known for their famous Grits a Ya Ya, a southern staple here in Pensacola!
- The Slippery Mermaid – While not technically in Pensacola, The Slippery Mermaid is just a short drive over to Navarre, and it’s definitely worth the trip. If you’re a sushi lover like me, you have to add this to your list. (click here for video)
- Peg Leg Pete’s – One of Pensacola Beaches most known restaurants. This is definitely one of my favorites on the beach. The summer time can bring big crowds and long lines, so keep that in mind when visiting. You have to try the gumbo and the oyster sampler platter!
- Flounder’s – A family favorite on Pensacola Beach! Seriously, my sister requests to eat here every time she visits. They are known for their fried seafood dishes, diesel fuels (an iconic drink loved by pensacola natives) and my personal favorite, their key lime pie! Anna’s Advice – Be careful with those diesel fuels….they will quickly knock you on your a** 🙂
This list is a running guide, and I’ll be updating it regularly with new spots and recommendations to make sure you have the best and latest info for your visit to Pensacola. Be sure to check back often for any updates!
Hi, I’m anna!
In 2020 my husband and I decided we didn’t want to wait until retirement age to travel. We’ve started to slowly travel around the world while navigating our adventures around a corporate job. We’ve gained quite the “travel reputation” and our family & friends are always asking where we’re off to next!
