Spending a Long Weekend in Washington, DC.

There is so much I could say about how incredible Washington DC is. We visited the city during the cherry blossom blooms and it was unreal. I loved the historical monuments, museums, and of course, all the delicious food.

where to stay

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Washington, and I found this location to be central to a lot of the places we wanted to visit. The hotel was clean, spacious and the rooms seemed to be recently updated.

must eat: washington dc

  • Martin’s Tavern – A famous restaurant in Georgetown! You absolutely have to try the French onion soup, it’s ranked #1 in DC for a reason. Fun fact – JFK proposed to Jackie in a booth here.
  • Unconventional Diner – A modern take on comfort food. This is one of those places that just has good vibes and delicious eats. The chicken parmesan florentine is chefs kiss!
  • Iron Gate Restaurant – Craving something more romantic? Check out Iron Gate for a unique fine dining experience.
  • Duke’s Grocery – For the best burger in city, check this place out! I also loved the fish & chips!
  • Pearl’s Bagels – Probably the best bagel I’ve ever had. This is a great breakfast location but they have limited seating and the line is typically out the door. Be sure to order ahead!

Hi, I’m anna!

In 2020 my husband and I decided we didn’t want to wait until retirement age to travel. We’ve started to slowly travel around the world while navigating our adventures around a corporate job. We’ve gained quite the “travel reputation” and our family & friends are always asking where we’re off to next!
