Restaurant Review: The Olde Pink House in Savannah, Georgia

Visit the restaurant’s website here.

The Olde Pink House in Savannah, Georgia is one of Savannah’s most popular restaurants, and for a good reason. The food, the vibe, and the fact that the restaurant is located in a historic mansion makes this a must visit on your next vacation! Apparently it’s haunted too but I’ll let you be the judge of that…

THE RESTAURANT:

We’ve been a few different times to The Olde Pink House, and every time we leave we are super impressed. The interior design has a classic, and historic feel to it. The lighting is dimmed, and many tables are candlelit. There are multiple dining rooms as this restaurant is in a historic mansion. And although there is not a listed dress code, the ambience and white tablecloths give a “fancier” feel to the restaurant.

what we ordered:

I honestly can’t remember what both of these drinks are called. However, the one with the cherry is the famous Planters Punch Cocktail. Both of these cocktails were very delicious!

My husband and I can’t visit The Olde Pink House and not order this BLT salad! It’s fried green tomatoes & sweet bacon with black pepper thyme buttermilk dressing. The sweet bacon and salty buttermilk dressing really tie the flavors all together. We love this appetizer so much that we tried to recreate it at home. It’s that good!

I’m laughing looking back at this picture. My husband really wanted to try the cornbread friend oysters but didn’t want to order a full platter. Luckily for us you can order a single oyster on the side. It came in this cute little saucer and was very delicious.

We ordered the mac and cheese jalapeno poppers with a red pepper coulis, and salsa verde. We loved the unique flavor of this appetizer and let’s just say it didn’t last very long at our table!

For my entree I ordered the caramelized vidalia onion & sweet potato ravioli with oyster mushrooms, and a savory pecan cream sauce. I really did enjoy this dish but I felt it was super rich and a little bit sweeter than I typically like for a pasta dish. I’ll order something different on our next visit!

My husband ordered the pecan crusted chicken breast with a blackberry bourbon glaze. His sides were sweet potato with pecan vanilla butter and collard greens! His dish was very delicious and the chicken was just right. The sweet potatoes with the pecan vanilla butter really hit the spot.

After our meal we were sooooo stuffed but of course we had to order some dessert to have back in the hotel so we chose the peanut butter & praline mousse bombe. This was so rich but so so so good! Definitely would recommend ending your meal with this dessert. It’s a great sharable dessert.

overall rating:

This restaurant is a go! We always find ourself coming back to The Olde Pink House when we travel to Savannah. If you like elevated southern dishes served in a historic mansion, I’d say check it out. Be sure to make reservations in advance and let me know what you think about it!

Hi, I’m anna!

In 2020 my husband and I decided we didn’t want to wait until retirement age to travel. We’ve started to slowly travel around the world while navigating our adventures around a corporate job. We’ve gained quite the “travel reputation” and our family & friends are always asking where we’re off to next!
