I don’t know about you but my social media feed has been full of ads to visit Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Obviously, the ads worked because we ended up making a day trip just to go visit downtown Ocean Springs & oh my goodness, how have I not been here before?! The downtown is so cute and it was the perfect way to spend our Saturday.

Art Galleries, Antiques, and good food!
Our day trip started with a quick pit stop to the Holy Land….Buc-ee’s! My husband was being all healthy and got a salad….at Buc-ees…. something is wrong with him! LOL. I grabbed the chicken & fries box with the chicken tender sauce and it was delicious. Probably my new favorite thing from there. The sauce was very similar to chick-fil-a sauce. So good!

Once we arrived in downtown Ocean Springs, we headed straight to The District Coffee Company. The inside of the coffee shop was eclectic, and filled with artwork from different artist! They were super pet friendly and even offered us a pup cup! Y’all already know that Dixie ate that up. She LOVED it! I ordered the purple reign…I think. It was an iced latte with a lavender vanilla syrup. Super yummy & hit the spot!

We walked down the street a bit and ran into a place called The Garage at Cash Alley. We saw the little arcade inside and decided to check it out! They had about five different pin ball machines and Pac-Man. It was cool to see, and I could definitely see us hanging out there on a weekend night and playing a few games!

We ended up shopping around and going into multiple stores! We loved the antiques at Coastal Magpie. My husband found a bunch of retro Disney postcards! We read a few of the postcards about people’s visit to Disney and it was very interesting to see how much things have changed. We also really enjoyed the artwork at Hillyer House. Both of these stores were very pet friendly, and they loved that we carried Dixie in a backpack. She, of course, enjoyed all the pets and attention! Haha!

Before our visit I read so much about The Tatonut Donut Shop, so naturally, we had to try some of these bad boys! I really wanted the blueberry donut holes but they were sold out by the time we got there. Emphasis on the saying “you snooze you lose.” Anyways, we ended up with the maple Katrina, and a chocolate peanut donut. I really loved them both but the maple Katrina was my favorite!

My mistake for not making reservations for Maison de Lu, as they could not seat us for dinner due to being booked and busy! However, I will be trying this restaurant on our next trip over here. The menu looked incredible, and the vibe was right up our alley. (and the patio is pet friendly)

We ended up eating at Knuckleheads and wow, this place really surprised us. The prices were very reasonable, and the indoor/outdoor dining meant it was extremely pet friendly! The service was phenomenal. Seriously, our waitress was so great! We ordered the Just Peachy burger, the Alabama blackened chicken quesadilla, and the shrimp & sausage dip. Everything was very delicious, and I’m sure my husband will have dreams about that burger!

We had such a great day visiting Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and we will definitely be back to try out some more of their food scene!

Hi, I’m anna!
In 2020 my husband and I decided we didn’t want to wait until retirement age to travel. We’ve started to slowly travel around the world while navigating our adventures around a corporate job. We’ve gained quite the “travel reputation” and our family & friends are always asking where we’re off to next!
